What is Pilates?

Pilates was developed by Joseph Pilates who transformed the concept of a strong flexible body. Starting as a very sickly child he was determined to improve his own physical condition. He developed a programe of exercising using the concept of 'Contrology' to better his physical and mental state. He achieved such good results that he was posing for anatomical drawings by age 14 and went on to become a boxer, gymnast and circus performer and later trained the NYC ballet dancers in New York.
